Temecula CA. to Reno NV. Through the desert, to the desert...nearly 1400 miles round trip. From elevations above 8000', to the low elevations near Death Valley we rode through temperatures from the mid 50's to over 120!   Our goal? Reno NV, to meet our longtime friends and scooterists who travelled south from Washington state by scooter just to meet up with us and show Reno a good time!

My wife and I started on our own scooters in Temecula CA., a community north of San Diego. We dropped into the desert area of Lucerne Valley CA. via  Big Bear Mountain CA., then travelled through Barstow, Baker, and Shoshone Ca.  From Shoshone we made and overnighted in Pahrump NV., and then took US 95 into Beatty, Rhyolite, Goldfield NV.  We overnighted in Hawthorne NV, and continued on past Walker Lake and veered northwesterly into historic (and very cool) Virginia City NV. where we enjoyed the old west for a few hours before taking the amazing Geiger Pass into the greater Reno area to connect with our longtime friends at the Eldorado Hotel for some laughs, libations, scooter-talk and just plain visiting.
