Failure to launch. Flower fields, but no missiles.  We rode to Lompoc, CA home of Vandenberg AFB in advance of a publicized nightime missile launch.  After a lovely ride up the CA coast and over the San Marcos Pass into Solvang, we visited the Solvang Motorcycle Museum, then off to Lompoc to get some sleep so we could drive to the end of town for the early morning launch time.  After standing on a pitch-black two-laner, next to one of Lompoc's famous flower fields all we saw was some faint light. Misson scrubbed! Darned rocket scientists!
