Scooter miles = people's smiles.  Over the years we've found ourselves become way more attached to our scooters, than the many (much more costly and practical) automobiles we've owned.  That being said, the longevity in our possesion of our Vespas and the mileage we put on them is, by our ownership standards; lengthy.  The "connection" we make with the un-assuming scooter that can carry us pretty much anywhere we want and pile up lots of miles/smiles over the years is a big attraction for us.
Heirlooms? Old friends?  Transportation?  A scooter can be any and all of these things!

Matt's Vespa, a 2006 Vespa GTS250ie was purchased new by him on January 5, 2006. On Sept. 23, 2013 he rolled it past 20,000 enjoyable miles (odometer above).

For lack of restraint he nearly always has an additional scooter, (or two) which also collect mileage but the Vespas it seems are always the anchor-tenant in his scooter/motorcycle stable.  Prior to this, he owned a 2002 Vespa ET-4, Vespa ET-2, and prior to that a 1978 Vespa P200e which he cared for and pampered between rides for over 10 years.

Sprinkle in a hand-full of other scooters from Piaggio, Genuine Scooter company AND a couple of proper motorcycles and you get the idea.

Presently, his "other" scooter is a Piaggio BV-350ie Sport tourer. Another italian scooter built by Vespa's parent company Piaggio, and featuring italian charm, personality, and other...qualities in a larger, more cross-country oriented package.

Pat's "Blue Hibiscus" 2006 Vespa GT200L is her favorite vehicle. Purchased new by her on August 18,2006 she pushed the odometer on that scooter past 16,000 miles on Sept. 15, 2013.

Birds of a feather; Patty has also owned and accumulated  lots of miles on numerous other scooters and a motorcycle and she presently also takes to the highway on her 2013 Piaggio BV-350ie when she isn't riding her Vespa.

Both her Vespas and her BV-350ie have carried her to some great destinations on trips that will be remembered forever by her.  Nearly all of our present  former scooters can be seen "somewhere" in the many  pictures included in this  The Scooter-Aficionado website you are (hopefully) enjoying.

Adventure, comfort AND style! Scooters bring it all.

No excuses.
